Evaluation

This is my evaluation of my A2 Media Production. It covers the following Questions:
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge the forms and conventions of real media products?
How effective is the combination of your main production and ancillary tasks?
What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
How did you use media technologies in the construction, research & planning and evaluation stages?

I decided to use Prezi, as the platform to display my Evaluation due to the ease of use and the ability to embed other platforms easily and nicely within it to create interesting, informative and engaging for the audience to view.

The answers to the questions are below:

Final Draft - DigiPak

This is the final version of my A2 Level DigiPak Ancillary task below:

Final Draft - Music Poster

The final version of my A2 Level Music Poster Anillary Task is below:

"I am a fan of the design however; I feel that it would look better if features of the main character were added onto the cartoon man, such as his large quiff and facial hair to give it a bit more of personality and consistency."

This piece of feedback was a challenging one to try and ful fill and after atteempting to add the characterisitcs of the characters onto his stick man I quickly realised that this detracted from the symbolic look that the stickman achieved, ruining the picture and losing meaning and representation for the audience.

"I feel you should replace the orange man with the real life picture, as the caricature of the stickman does not look very professional, if using the original real life photo of Conor have him featured with something orange to maintained consistency"

This is one piece of feedback that I did agree with and follow through with, they speak about the stickman being rather unprofessional and childlike, and that if a real life photo of Conor the main actor was to be used then the poster would look a lot more professional and link in well with the rest of the products adding to the element of recognisability and consistency.

"The cartoon man is an effective concept with the man attracting the viewer to look into the distance and question the content, however, I don’t feel it connects with the rest of the production work and therefore consistency is lacking."

This is another comment regarding the consistency between the products, this person suggested that Conor should be featured on the Poster as in all of the other products, this means the audience will be able to recognize the product and relate to the others they have seen.

Music Poster Draft 1 - Feedback

I collected some audience feedback on the first draft of my music poster. This allowed me to understand what can be improved to make the poster better:

"I am a fan of the design however; I feel that it would look better if features of the main character were added onto the cartoon man, such as his large quiff and facial hair to give it a bit more of personality and consistency."
Callum Fitzsimons - Fellow Student

"I feel you should replace the orange man with the real life picture, as the caricature of the stickman does not look very professional, if using the original real life photo of Conor have him featured with something orange to maintained consistency"
Shannon Porter - Fellow Student

"The cartoon man is an effective concept with the man attracting the viewer to look into the distance and question the content, however, I don’t feel it connects with the rest of the production work and therefore consistency is lacking."
Benedict Findlay - Fellow Student

This feedback is invaluable to my production work as it allows me to both understand what can be improved and how it can be improved, whilst making the product appeal to my target audience.
