Gaining Permission.....Hopefully

After my initial thoughts I realized that I would love to do Insomnia by Faithless for my Music video however, in order to be able to use this song I had to contact the artists record label, Sony Music Entertainment.

I looked on the internet for the companies details and found the UK contact phone number and after ringing them and being on hold I got put through and I was referred to the licensing department. I was thereby given and email address under the name of:

'Elizabeth.Peers@sonymusic.com'

Below is a copy of the email I sent to her requesting permission:

'Dear Ms Peers,

After speaking to one of your colleagues from Sony Music Entertainment he referred me to your email, regarding the use of one of Sony's Artist's tracks in my A2 Level Media Production.

The piece of coursework requires us to produce a feature length music video for a song of our choice, however, the song must be copyright free.

Therefore, would it be possible to use 'Insomnia' by 'Faithless' from their 'Reverence' album in my coursework and I was told I have to contact you to request permission. 

I hope this will be acceptable as I am a massive Faithless fan and being able to do this song would be a great honor.
