The Characters

The characters that will feature in my production will be young sixth formers in full time education, this is where the evidence of social pressure will come in as one of the characters is finding it difficult to keep on top of the amount of work he is receiving whilst balancing it between his social life, girlfriend and sport. All of this has gradually got to much for him to the point where he 'Cant get no sleep' enforcing the name of the song insomnia. 

The main character will go by the name of Conor Duncan or Slaam as he is known by his friends. Conor is into his second year of his A Level studies and is struggling to keep on top of and get his head around the amount of complex work he continues to be given. Aswell as his school work, he faces the pressure of keeping in touch with his mates but not losing touch of his relationship he has with his girlfriend, all of this while trying to manage the attitude of his over aspirational football coach to stay in the 1st XI Team. 

Second character called Callum Fitzsimons or Fitz is the complete opposite to Conor, in the fact that he is finding school relatively easy, handing his homework in on time and to a high stand unlike Conor. As well as having a promising and successful education Callum also possess a thriving social life despite not being in a relationship. He regularly goes out with his friends and is considered one of the most popular in the group, unlike Conor. Callum's sporting success is also evident with him becoming a national level swimmer without a great deal of effort something Conor cant achieve as easily in a more competitive sporting market.
