Change of Plan

The original idea concerning the main production task was to film at my friends 18th birthday party however, when I arrived at the venue on the night the setting was not what I had imagined. I envisioned that the party would be dark and compact similar to that of a night club, however, this was not the case and it was actually just a village hall that was fairly well lit. Therefore no filming was carried out, I have thus had to come up with some new ideas.  After sitting down with the teacher, we came up with a few different ideas that are below:

1.  Night Club Permission

This was the first idea that I came up with when the party scene was considered however, it was easier to gain permission from a friend than it was a business, this was were the first idea rose. However, I would have to ask permission from the local nightclub called Rubix, however this is a busy nightclub and if I took a camera in there then the likelihood that the general public will stay out of the way is slim, plus my main actor Conor is underage and therefore in terms of getting him into the club this would require permission making it logistically difficult, I have therefore decided to to scrap this idea and go with idea no.2 below:

2. Struggling from Social Pressure

This idea is where the main character Conor is shown doing multiple different things such as playing sport, socialising with his friends but still manage to fit in time for him and his girlfriend to have some time together. All of these things as well as trying to achieve decent grades in his study at school. This would then be interspliced with other footage of him hard at work in the middle of the night alongside closeups of the clock changing and the calender advancing.

In terms of filming these seen's I would require a local pub to film Conor and his mates having a drink at night, plus a restaurant in which to film him and his girlfriend having a meal and Conor playing a game of football to show his sporting necessities.

I have a few possible locations that could be used if permission can be granted to film there:

- Drink with Friends - This can be filmed at a small pub close to my home called the Thornhill arms this would provide the ideal setting of a old style pub that you would typically find people drinking in. This would be easy to film and permission will hopefully be easy to achieve.

- Meal with Girlfriend - This will be easy to achieve as the local restaurant which I work at can provide a perfect little restaurant that will provide a romantic setting that a boyfriend and girlfriend would ideally like to achieve. I can also get the restaurant after hours therefore their will be no interruption from members of the public.

- Sport - Conor is an active footballer who plays both midweek and at the weekend so finding a time when I am free and Conor is playing shouldnt be too difficult this means filming Conor playing sport should be easy.
